Ahead of judgement in the insider trading case against India-born Rajat Gupta, we speak to Judge Richard Holwell, partner at Holwell Shuster and Goldberg, about the case. He says that the sentence generally becomes more stringent depending on the illicit gain or loss calculated in such white-collar crimes. Judge Holwell further adds that mercy pleas by Bill Gates and Kofi Annan will play an important factor.
