The Hyderabad Central University continues to simmer with student unrest - several students and faculty were arrested on Tuesday after violence on campus over the return of Vice Chancellor Appa Rao. With arrests taking place just before a long weekend, bail hearings have only been scheduled for Monday. There are reports of violence in police custody, and parents have accused the university of not informing them of the arrests. The Vice Chancellor has issued a letter refuting rumours that his office was responsible for cutting off electricity and water, or that he met with political leaders on or off campus. As both sides stand their ground, how is the university continuing to function?
