The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE), for admission to engineering courses, and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), for admission to medical courses, will go ahead as scheduled and admit cards for the JEE (Main) exam have already been issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA). This happened amid a massive online protest against conducting exams during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the top trend on social media with nearly three million tweets. Supporting the government's move, Geeta Bhatt, a political analyst, tells NDTV, "Students' lives are important but so is their future."
