CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta on Wednesday criticized the government for convening a short winter session despite many pending bills and decisions. Calling it a mockery of a session, Dasgupta pointed out that even the Prime Minister would be away for two foreign visits during the 10-day sitting. Earlier, the Lok Sabha speaker had asked ministers not to go on foreign visits during Parliament sessions without his permission.
