UP Power Employees Call Off Strike After 72 Hours

Power employees in Uttar Pradesh called off their 72-hour strike after a detailed round of discussion with UP energy minister Arvind Kumar Sharma. Night shift workers, junior engineers, and engineers were on strike and refused to attend duty at thermal powerhouses in Anpara, Obra, Parichha, and Harduaganj. Energy Minister AK Sharma said, "We had a detailed discussion with Vidyut Karmachari Sangharsh Samiti officers, Convener Shailendra Dubey. UP Electricity Department employees called off their strike a day earlier. I thank their decision and I assured the Sangharsh Samiti that all action taken against the workers during the strike would be withdrawn. I have directed the Chairman of UPPCL that the action taken against the employees."
