#MeToo is a hashtag which led to a flood of voices against sexual harassment. The campaign took off two weeks ago when American actress Alyssa Milano tweeted asking women to share their stories of harassment in the wake of the scandal involving Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein. Millions of women around the world have joined the campaign. Twitter reports that 48 million users have tweeted with the hashtag #MeToo. On Art Matters, we bring you a series of art works which have emerged from this online campaign and a flashback to a protest in 19th century Kerala, where Nangeli protested against the breast tax imposed on lower caste women, setting off a revolution.
