Delhi's biggest Ramleela event - which takes place at the Red Fort ground and is attended by the Prime Minister and the President - will not take place this year. On Sunday, the Delhi government had announced that Ramleela and Durga Puja pandals will be allowed; however, government-mandated Covid protocols will have to be strictly followed. NDTV spoke with the head of the Luv Kush Ramleela Committee which organises the event at Red Fort. He said that with just 15 days left, neither has the Archaeological Survey of India (which comes under central government) given the permission for the event yet nor will it be practically possible to implement the kind of rules that have been laid down by the Delhi government.
