The weeklong smog blanket over Delhi has been in media spotlight but it is neighbouring Uttar Pradesh hat has the worse air quality. Over the last three days, cities like Ghaziabad, Noida, Lucknow, Kanpur and Varanasi have turned the bigger gas chambers. Today, the National Green Tribunal lashed out at the UP government and the Noida Authority for flouting its ban on construction in the national capital region, despite PM10 level being over 900. The court said they were making a "mockery of the system."
