"In my experience of 30 years in Sri Lanka, what I have seen is that Sri Lanka's political elite is very self-serving and we see that in the behaviour of leaders right now. The way out of this crisis is not going to be to try and bargain with India, United States, China etc to get some more money to keep the country afloat. Sri Lanka will have to have a government of national reconciliation to get out of this crisis," Husain Haqqani, former Pakistan ambassador to Sri Lanka, said.
