Government vs Judges: How Will Confrontation End?
It's the legislature vs the judiciary once again following Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar's remarks questioning the landmark 1973 verdict which ruled that the basic structure of the constitution must be protected at any stage. The Vice President said the doctrine of preserving the basic structure sets a bad precedent and it becomes difficult to say that India is a democratic nation, a point questioned by many including the former Finance Minister P Chidambaram.
