Despite the Tamil Nadu government giving its nod to the Kudankulam nuclear power plant, over 5000 locals, backed by activists, continue to protest against the project citing safety concerns. We debate if the protestors, despite assurances by the Centre, state and the country's nuclear watchdog, are holding the country's critical energy needs to ransom or is their agitation justified.
