Since the beginning of swachh bharat abhiyan more than 8 crore toilets have been built across India and 4.9 lakh villages have been declared open defecation free. Access to safe sanitation over the years have helped decrease diarrhoea cases in the country and now the government aims to achieve eradicate diarrhea-related deaths from the country completely.
