Film critic Anupama Chopra, in her review of the Saina Nehwal biopic, said that the film starring Parineeti Chopra "alternates between exciting match sequences and dull starches that seem tagged together like a highlight reel of the athlete's life." In her review of
Saina, she added, "One of the problems is that the other character aren't written sharply enough." She signed off saying that the film "shining with sincerity and hard work, misses a few crucial points."
