Demand is soft for H1 FY11, see upswing in second half: Whirlpool

Shantanu DasGupta, Vice President - Corporate Affairs & Strategy, Asia South at Whirlpool said the demand is still soft in their segment and does not expect a sharp turn-around in demand immediately. It might see an upswing in the second half of FY11, he said. Sushil Maroo, Director & Group CFO of Jindal Steel & Power, however, says that he has seen steel demand picking up in the last 2 month. "New demand has come up from the infra space and power sector," he said.
