BL Bagra, CMD and director of finance at NALCO, clarifies that Ministry of Environment and Forest's (MoEF) comments on the bauxite mine lease renewal is not in the least worrying at this stage. He thinks that the recommendations only restrict NALCO's mining to around 300 acres. Although future planned ramp-ups will be impacted, it will not be huge as there is a significant time before the company starts to mine the rest of the area, he adds.
