In an interview with NDTV Profit, NTPC clearly denies involvement in the alleged favours given by the government to private companies over allocation of coal fields between 2004 and 2009. "There is no way where NTPC can hedge the price of coal, sell it somewhere else and make a windfall profit", says Arup Roy Choudhury, Chairman and Managing Director, NTPC.
