A total of 8000 crores worth of green bonds are on the block and borns worth 4000 crores have already been fully sold. So what are green bonds and how did the issuance really work? Green borns are fixed income financial instruments which are used to fund projects that have a positive environmental impact. The proceeds from these bonds will be used for public sector projects that help reduce the carbon footprint of the economy. Now, economists believe this influx of fresh liquidity is important as this will also help pave the past towards climate financing. The issuance of green borns is in line with India's vision to achieve net zero emissions by 2070
