Fiscal consolidation will be the key thing to watch out for in the Budget, says Ashish Parthasarthy of HDFC Bank. He says the government should focus on cuts in expenditure along with measures to widen the tax base and increase tax compliance. He adds that bond yields may ease post the Budget if a fiscal deficit target of 4.8 per cent is announced.
