Diesel will be costlier by 25 paise in the national capital with the Delhi Government introduced an environment cess with an aim to reduce pollution levels. In 2005, Mashelkar committee submitted report about shifting from high sulphur diesel in a phased manner. The report said that Delhi was among the 11 metros that should shift to the Euro-III norms for diesel and then move to Euro-IV norms after 2010.
