Airport modernisation program: AAI to borrow Rs. 2000 cr

The Airports Authority of India, which is upgrading and modernising two metro airports at Chennai and Kolkata and 35 non-metro airports across India at a cost of Rs 12,500 crore approximately, will fall short of its total requirement. The authority hopes to cover the shortfall of Rs 1500-2000 crore by borrowing from banks.
