Car sales in India slumped 8 per cent in November, dashing hopes of a sustained revival in demand, as an expected festive season boom failed to materialize in a key growth market for car makers. Car sales have grown just 1.3 per cent in the April-November period from a year previously. To boost sales, car companies are doling out discounts and freebies. Here are some of them:
Maruti Suzuki
The car maker is offering discounts of up to Rs 60,000 on its cars — the Alto, the A-Star, the Estilo, the Wagon R, the Ritz and the SX4. It is also offering a three-year extended warranty, free music system, gift cheques, exchange bonuses, etc. -
Hyundai
The Korean car maker is offering discounts ranging from Rs 5,000 to Rs 50,000 across models. The company has launched a 'December Delight' scheme, under which it is offering benefits in the range of Rs 15,000 to Rs 1,20,000. The Eon is carrying a discount of Rs 30,000, while the Santa Fe is coming with a discount of Rs 1,20,000. The Santro, the company's most popular model, is carrying a discount of Rs 45,000. -
Ford
Ford last week held its traditional midnight discount scheme. The Fiesta came with a discount of up to Rs 72,000, the newly launched Figo carried benefits of up to Rs 25,000, the Endeavor had a discount of up to Rs 81,000, while the Fiesta was available at discounts of up to Rs 34,000.
