London:
Music mogul Simon Cowell is reportedly planning to launch a US boyband to replicate the sound of One Direction.
The X Factor boss has said that following his star signing taking America by storm this month, he hopes they willencourage other boy bands to audition for X Factor USA.
One Direction gained an incredible fan following when they visited LA earlier this year to film an appearance ontelevision show iCarly, and the 52-year-old is understood to be keen to do the same with homegrown talent, reported Digital Spy.
One Direction are about to literally explode in America. There is even a chance their album may debut at number one when it's released. I think that in itself will start makingthe point that groups can do well in these competitions," said Cowell.
"We put them together. I made a decision that they hadn't quite made it or weren't ready as solo artists, and the groups that year, I've got to admit, were terrible."
