Singer Mariah Carey honoured late musician Prince, who died at the age of 57, by dedicating a song to him when she took the stage at a concert in Paris.
The singer also asked for a moment of silence during the show at the AccorHotels Arena, which took place just hours after news about Prince's death broke, reports . The legendary musician died on Thursday.
"So, it's a very sad day but we remember the life of somebody who will always be treasured," Mariah said of Prince in front of the crowd before performing One Sweet Day.
"He was a friend to me too and he talked me through when sometimes I really, really needed somebody. He was an incredible person if you never got to meet him," she told the crowd.
"I'm sure his music has touched every single person in here so let's have a moment of silence for Prince," she added.
Upon learning of the iconic singer's death, Mariah also wrote on Twitter:
