Veteran singer Lionel Richie is set to be honoured with a humanitarian award by Harvard University.
The 62-year-old will be handed the Peter J Gomes Humanitarian Award during a ceremony at Harvard University. The accolade recognises Richie for co-writing 1985 charity single We Are the World and re-recording the anthem in 2010 to benefit Haiti.
He is also being honoured for his efforts to raise money and awareness for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Past recipients of the annual award include Sharon Stone and James Earl Jones.
