It was the pre-awards party of a popular award ceremony in Mumbai on January 22 and it seems that there's quite a lot to look forward to this year, not in the least from its stylish host - or make that hosts. Host Karan Johar says, "I will be hosting the main awards this year. I thought this news would have come out by now. Kapil (Sharma) and I will be hosting the awards together."
Now that's an interesting comic combination but not all the questions posed to Karan were of the comic variety. From Shuddhi to US President Barack Obama's visit, Karan shared opinions on a variety of topics.
Talking about his ambitious project Shuddhi , Karan cleared the air, saying, "Shuddhi is going to start in October. It was never going to be based abroad. It was always going to be based in the heartland."
As for Barack Obama's visit, Karan seemed rather excited. "It's a wonderful occasion to have one of the powerful people in the world come visit us," he said.
Clearly, Karan has also taught his Student how to field questions with aplomb. Actress Alia Bhatt arrived on the red carpet sporting a rather smouldering look, a far cry from her normal girl next door image.
On her new look Alia said, "You have to sometimes spice it up a bit. But I'm not leaving behind the cuteness."
Not surprisingly, Alia chose to play coy when quizzed about her rumoured relationship with her Student Of The Year co-star Sidharth Malhotra. It was her response to working with Kareena Kapoor in Udta Punjab that caught our attention. Alia responded with a polite but firm, "No comments".
Yes, if the pre-party was this interesting we can't wait for the actual awards night.
