Mumbai:
Mumbai Divya Kumar, wife of producer and T-series chairman Bhushan Kumar, is all set to make her directorial debut with a youth-centric film. Divya, who has acted in a few films like Dal - The Gang, Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo, will direct a film, which would be based on youth.
"I have been directing ads and videos for quite some time. I wanted to direct films and have learnt the nuancesof direction like cinematography, editing and direction . The script of the film that I am making is also ready. It is a youth-centric film on the lines of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na," said Divya Khosla Bhushan.
"I feel not many movies are made on the youths these days, even as they form a major chunk of our audience," she said.
Divya has also penned down the script, along with Sanjeev Dutta, who has written dialogues for movies like Kites, Life in a Metro and others.
She has been planning it for about two years and has got her final cast in place.
Talking about the star cast, Divya said, "Since it isa youth film, we wanted someone young, in the age group of 19-20 years of age. If we would have taken some 30 or 40-year-old actor it wouldn't have looked genuine. Also, I did not want a starry-starry film."
"For this film, we have taken all newcomers. There are no star kids," she added. This untitled film will go on the floors this August and would release next year in summer.
Husband Bhushan Kumar is producing the movie. "I loved the film and its concept. It is a youthful film with elements of comedy, romance and it also has a message. Hence, I am producing the movie, jointly with Viacom 18," Bhushan said.
"There will be six songs or so in the film. Pritam would be giving the music and the lyrics would be penned by Irshad Kamil of Rockstar, Jodi Breakers and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan fame," Bhushan added.
