Senthil Chengalvarayan
Executive DirectorMr. Senthil Chengalvarayan is a trusted name in Indian Business News Journalism.
A doyen of the industry with over 35 years of experience, Mr. Chengalvarayan was President and Editor-in-Chief of Network 18's Business Newsroom. He headed various verticals within the group such as CNBC TV18, CNBC Awaaz, Forbes India and many more. Prior to this, he was the Managing Editor of CNBC TV18. As a pioneer of Business Television in India, he built and led a team of journalists that made CNBC TV18 the most successful media network in the Country.
Mr. Chengalvarayan, who has been a business journalist for over three decades, spent his early years with some of India’s leading business dailies before joining Television Eighteen in 1994. He played a crucial role in this transformative phase of the industry, which eventually led to its tremendous growth and success.
He was ranked amongst India's top five English news anchors by the Hindustan Times – C fore Survey in 2007, marking a significant milestone as the first business anchor to be included in that list. He has also been awarded the Young Achiever Award from the Indo U.S. Business Council.
A Graduate in Economics from Madras University, he has done his master’s in journalism from the Times Research Foundation Institute’s School of Social Journalism.
