The battle for Gujarat is now well and truly underway with the first phase of the two-phase poll ending on Tuesday. Eighty-six assembly seats voted in south Gujarat, Saurashtra and Kutch, areas where the rebellion against Chief Minister Narendra Modi is the strongest. The NDTV Exit Poll predicts the BJP will get 13 seats less than 2002, while the Congress gains in all the seats.
