A 15-year-old girl from Shankargarh, about 50 kilometres from Allahabad, was allegedly set on fire after she resisted a rape attempt on Sunday. The man who tried to rape her ran after she sounded an alarm; his parents later doused her with kerosene and set her ablaze in an attempt to silence her, according to the police.
