It is a season of lists - from the Congress to the BJP to the BRS, political parties are taking no chance when it comes to the selection of candidates. And while the emphasis is only on winning, the BJP in some ways is making it clear that its strategy to field heavyweight MPs is not just to optimise its chances of winning but also to send out a message that for the party, no election is local and every local issue could have national implications.
