Five days after the Ministry of Home Affairs had decided to send an inter-ministerial Central team to 11 flood-hit states excluding Punjab, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla has informed that a team to assess damage would also be sent to the state. This comes after Chief Minister Amarinder Singh had expressed his surprise over Punjab's exclusion from the list.
