Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke of India's fast-growing economy, rapid pace of development in terms of infrastructure, digitisation and commitment to democratic values during an address to a huge gathering of Indian expats in Washington. "The new growth story of new India is being scripted in India's small towns and cities. When you call your relatives in India, they must be eager to tell you stories of development- the amount being invested on infrastructure has never happened before," he said.
