Minor girl forcefully married off in UP

An eye for an eye, a girl for a girl was the convoluted maxim of the panchayat in a western UP village. It was their way of levelling the score after a boy eloped with a girl from the village. Last week saw the panchayat forcing a boy's 13-year-old sister to marry the girl's 17-year-old brother.
