Japanese Prime Minister Kushida and his wife Yoko were welcomed to the White House by the United States President Joe Biden on Tuesday. This is Kishida state visit to the United States in order to set uh and strengthen defence ties between Japan and the United States against recent Chinese military actions in the Pacific. Kushida is the first Japanese leader to receive full honours from a US president since Shinzo Abe in 2015. Preparations are the way for Wednesday's official visit and that formal statement now, which will be taking place later tonight.
