Akhtarista Ansari, a JNUSU student who suffered a head injury during the clash, said that ABVP "goons" barged inside the Kaveri Hostel and "hit with rocks" over non-vegeterian food being served in the mess. "Being a Sunday non-vegetarian food items were being cooked in the hostel mess, along with vegetarian ones. They also attacked the mess vendor who had come to supply chicken. I was hit with rocks by ABVP goons. I suffered a head injury and was admitted in AIIMS. I received 4 stitches on my forehead", she said.
