IIT-Kanpur's aeronautics department, in collaboration with a start-up, has developed an unmanned drone-helicopter. This drone-helicopter can be used for long-endurance surveillance and vaccine distribution. With the capacity to carry weight up to 5 kg, it can cover a distance of 50 km. As the weight reduces, the distance can be increased to 100 km. Professor Abhishek of the department of aerospace engineering, said, "It operates on petrol and can go working for straight three to four hours. It can be used for vaccine distribution in far-flung areas." (Credit: ANI)
