Ever since he assumed office in 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Independence Day Speeches have outlined the road map for the year ahead. There have been nine speeches so far - which have carried significant political points with social outreach built into them. This would be PM Modi's last Independence day speech in his second term as the PM. The country heads into general elections early next year.
