With several low-lying areas still inundated in Chennai for the fourth day, authorities say the water level is receding and there will be significant improvement in the next 24 hours and the power supply to be restored. On Wednesday, many people from inundated areas left their homes fleeing on boats authorities had arranged. NDTV's Sam Daniel spoke to Chennai Police Commissioner Sandeep Rai Rathore as he accompanied a rescue team the Officer led on a boat into the inundated Tansi Nagar at Velacherry.
