Refusing to succumb to pressure from the BJP over his "Rape in India" remark, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi today said he will not apologise for speaking out the "truth" and sought an apology from Prime Minister Narendra Modi for "destroying" the country's economy. He also said, "My name is Rahul Gandhi, not Rahul Savarkar." Eliciting a sharp response from Maharashtra alliance partner, Shiv Sena who said that there could not be any "compromise" on the Hindutva ideologue. Shiv Sena has called out Rahul Gandhi on his "I'm not Rahul Savarkar" remark. The Congress should not insult Veer Savarkar, said the Sena, since their party respected Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru. The BJP also hit out saying Rahul Gandhi routinely insults Indian tradition.
