Dr Nageshwar Reddy was awarded Padma Shri (2002) and Padma Bhushan (2016) for innovations in Gastro Intestinal Endoscopy and he is also the Chairman of the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology and AIG Hospitals in Hyderabad. On the Independence Day special episode of Banega Swasth India, Dr Reddy said gut hygiene is closely related to hand hygiene and hand washing campaigns play a crucial role in raising awareness about hand hygiene.
