The Times of India, The Indian Express, Hindustan Times and The Asian Age published PM Modi-Xi meet in the leads. The Telegraph took Modi-Xi meet at Mallalapuram in the page one anchor and highlighted the Nobel Peace Prize as its leading story. Among the other top stories were Virat Kohli's new record of hitting most 150-plus scores as captain of a team. Mr Kohli hit his 9th 150-plus score against South Africa on Friday.
The Times Of India took the first day of PM Narendra Modi's meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in the leads. "From trade to terror, Modi and Xi resolve to work closely together," read the headline of the lead story in Times Of India. The prime minister had a one-on-one dinner with President Xi in the Shore Temple of Mamallapuram near Chennai, which lasted for over two-and-a-half hours. Trade and terrorism were reported as the top issues discussed between the two leaders.
The Indian Express: The Indian Express too higlighted PM Narendra Modi's meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping as its lead story. "On Day One, Modi and Xi talk trade, terror and threat they face from radicalisation," read the headline on the front page of the leading English daily.
The Telegraph: The Telegraph published the story of Nobel Peace Prize to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed. The leader was honoured "for his efforts to achieve peace and international cooperation, and in particular for his decisive initiative to resolve the border conflict with neighbouring Eritrea," the Nobel Committee said.
Highlighting PM Modi-Xi story in leads, The Asian Age reported that the two leaders discussed terror but there was no mention of the Kashmir issue in more than two hour long meet. "Modi-Xi discuss terror, but not Kashmir," read the headline of the story.
