At least 23 people have died after a fire broke out in a bogie of the Nanded Express in Anantapuram district in Andhra Pradesh.
Nine others have been injured; they've been shifted to a hospital in the district.
The fire broke out in the second AC bogie of the train numbered 16594 which was headed to Nanded from Bengaluru.
There were 72 passengers in the bogie.
A few people jumped out of the train on noticing the fire.
The fire has been completely doused but darkness, fog and smoke are hampering rescue work, said officials.
