Bangalore-Ernakulam Express Derails

Several passengers have reportedly been injured after some compartments of a train derailed near the border between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Several bogies of the Bangalore-Ernakulam Intercity Express have reportedly gone off the track.

The accident took place at around 7.48 near Hosur in Tamil Nadu. The train had started at 6 am.

One person who was reportedly injured in the incident has been rushed to the hospital.

Ambulances from Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have been rushed to the spot and officials are coordinating rescue operations, they said.

A train to rescue the stranded passengers is on its way to the accident site from Tamil Nadu's Erode.
