Britain's Prince William and his wife Catherine celebrate their first wedding anniversary today, marking the milestone in private after two billion TV viewers watched them wed in 2011.

Kate Middleton drove from Goring Hotel to Westminster Abbey in a Rolls Royce with her father. The dress that the world had been waiting to see was on full display when she stepped out of the car.
Escorted by her father, Mike, Kate Middleton smiled as she walked down the aisle. Onlookers say when she reached William, he said to her, "You look beautiful."
The couple wrote a prayer that they read at the ceremony. Kate's wedding band is made from Welsh gold.
With thousands of fans cheering, the newly-weds headed to Buckingham Palace in a horse-drawn carriage.

Inside the church, while waiting for his bride, Prince William was seen talking to friends and guests including Princess Diana's brother, the Earl of Spencer, and Prince Andrew, his father's brother.
