The arrest of Trinamool MP Sudip Bandyopadhyay in the Rose Valley chit fund scam today escalated the fight between Mamata Banerjee and the centre. Minutes after the TMC MP's arrest, Ms Banerjee dared Prime Minister Modi to arrest his minister Babul Supriyo first. There was high drama in Kolkata, with Bengal BJP office being attacked allegedly by TMC workers. Alleging political vendetta, Mamata Banerjee called for Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah's arrest.
