The Maharashtra government today announced Rs. 4,000-crore package for farmers affected by unseasonal rain and hailstorms. The state government has also asked for Rs. 5000 crore from the Centre to help farmers. The state cabinet also decided to waive Rs. 268 crore towards interest on crop loans and electricity bills of Rs. 200 crore of farmers.
