Ending years of speculation, Chief Minister Karunanidhi has kept his public promise to reward his prodigal son M K Azhagiri with a senior party post soon. Azhagiri is the DMK's South Zone Organising Secretary, a post specially created. The appointment comes after the Madurai strongman ensured a huge victory for the DMK in the Thirumangalam by-poll. The DMK patriarch has capitalised on the newfound unity in his family to swing this deal.
