Facing strong opposition from various political parties on different aspects of the new anti-rape law, the government diluted some provisions today and the bill will now be brought to Parliament tomorrow. Faced with a tight deadline to get the bill through before Parliament breaks for recess this week, the centre pushed hard to have the bill tabled tomorrow. So the age of consent for sex has been kept at 18, while voyeurism has been done away with altogether. On Left, Right & Centre, we discuss if the law is being rushed through without enough debate.
