The Appeal of Conscience Foundation has announced that it will felicitate Prime Minister Manmohan Singh with its prestigious World Statesman Award for the year 2010.
The Appeal of Conscience Foundation has announced that it will felicitate Prime Minister Manmohan Singh with its prestigious World Statesman Award for the year 2010.
The award would be presented to the Prime Minister in September. Indian Ambassador to the US Meera Shankar said the Prime Minister had graciously accepted the award.

Among the past recipients of this prestigious award include British Prime Minister Gordon Brown (2009).
The foundation praised Brown's "compassionate leadership in dealing with the challenging issues facing humanity and for the major role he had played in helping to stabilise the world's financial system".
French President Nicolas Sarkozy (2008) - On the World Statesman Award to President Sarkozy, Rabbi Arthur Schneier (Founder of The Appeal of Conscience Foundation) stated: "With determination and perseverance, President Sarkozy has plunged into the international arena to take on the political, social, and humanitarian challenges facing the world today. His advocacy for human rights, democracy, and tolerance, and his concern for the protection of the environment are exemplary. He has earned the designation of World Statesman."
Chancellor Angela Merkel was presented with the "World Statesman Award 2007" in New York.
Casting Germany as the white knight of global environmentalism, she also unravelled the EU constitutional crisis – earning the World Statesman Award and a Charlemagne Prize nomination.

World Statesman Award is the annual award granted by the New York-based Appeal of Conscience Foundation, to statesmen and women considered to have made a positive and significant impact on promoting peace, tolerance and ethnic conflict resolution.
The Foundation was formed in 1965 by Rabbi Arthur Schneier to promote freedom, democracy and human rights, cornerstones it sees for peace and prosperity.
