Fed has done an excellent job: Alan Greenspan
Alan Greenspan, former chairman of the Federal Reserve of the United States, said the US central bank has done a excellent job to tackle the finance crisis. "You have to sovereign credit for private credit in the wake of the crisis."
Vikram Pandit, CEO of Citigroup, said it has a strong franchise in India and is looking forward to being a part of India's growth. "It will continue to focus on microfinance and support the country's priorities, particularly in financial inclusion."
Deepak Parekh's dream of affordable housing
HDFC Chairman Deepak Parekh has been awarded the NDTV Profit's Most Inspiring Business Leader of the Year award. Speaking on the occasion, Parekh said he would like to work towards fulfilling the dream of affordable houses for the masses.
Lifetime Achievement Award for Narayana Murthy
Narayana Murthy, the founder-chairman of Infosys Technologies, won NDTV Profit's Lifetime Achievement Award for 2010. He said that in some way he is involved in initiatives that add some value to the nation.
Business Leader of the Year: Mukesh Ambani
Mukesh Ambani, chief of RIL and who also won the Business Leader of the Year at NDTV Profit Business Leadership Awards, said that GST and DTC are historical milestones and "every country would want to have them."
Vivek Kundra, CIO of US,Farah Anwar Pandith, special representative to Muslim Communities for US Dept of State, Preeta Bansal, Vice-Chair, Administrative Conference of the US, Richard Verma, Assistant Secretary for the Bureau of Legislative Affairs, U.S. Department of State and Ro Khanna, Deputy Assistant Secretary for U.S. Domestic Operations & Foreign Commercial Service , U.S. Department of Commerce International Trade Administration, got NDTV Profit's award for Excellence in International Governance. They speak about their roles in the Obama administration.
Creative Entrepreneur of the Year: Aamir Khan
Actor and producer Aamir Khan, who won the Creative Entrepreneur of the Year at NDTV Profit Business Leadership Awards, said that he just wants to continue to be part of stories. "I don't see myself as a business person," he added.
Business Innovator of the Year: Sunil Mittal
Sunil Mittal of Bharti Airtel, who won the award for Business Innovator of the Year at NDTV Profit Business Leadership Awards, said that he is very excited about the opportunities that 3G and BWA would offer to its citizens.
Indian economy has come of age: Pranab
Speaking at the NDTV Profit Business Leadership Awards, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said that Indian economy has come of age and barring a serious global down, it is poised to touch the growth level witnessed during the pre-crisis years.
